I'm devastated and heartbroken to announce that Steve Goodwin passed away suddenly this morning of unknown causes.
More than a business partner, he was my mentor, my friend, and my brother. He had a snarky wit few could match paired with a thoughtful and loving heart, both of which could leave an indelible mark! I would drive him crazy with my typos and he'd drive me crazy with his constant corrections, but we complemented each other perfectly. He was a gifted wordsmith, incredible brand strategist and always knew exactly what to say and when. He was authentic to the core. He was the backbone of BrandFoundations, providing the rhythm for our work (and his beloved bandmates) and giving me the confidence to pitch any project. Countless brands and companies are better for the polish Steve provided and countless lives were uplifted by his love and humor.
The last "new business pitch" we made together was last night, and it was one of our best in eight years of working together. I was never more proud of our partnership than after that call and I told him so afterward. I'm lucky for the time we had together. I love you, brother. Thank you for all you brought to my life and my career. You made me a better person and I'll forever keep the spirit of our work shining bright. And yes, I did run this thru Grammarly before I posted it!
I’ll be carrying on the BrandFoundations name and practice and adjusting to this new reality in the months ahead and I appreciate all the love and support of our partners, customers and friends.
